Sumario: The year devoted to the Eucharist has aided our reflection on the manner we celebrate Mass. The situation of many faithful who attend Mass but have not had an adequate Christian initiation has brought about a lack of balance in the celebration; the need for instruction and formation has caused a preponderance of the word over the actions. If the Eucharis is the source and summit of the Christian life, its celebration presupposes a preparation and a continuation. The mystagogic experience that flourished in the patristic era can enlighten our task to cope with this need.
