This paper tries to show how the theme of peace is present in the whole liturgical celebration of the Eucharist, from the beginning to the dismissal of the Eucharistic congregation. With this in mind it searches the biblical meaning of peace, and then procedes through the different texts of the ordinary of the Mass where the word peace explicitly appears and interprets them according to the biblical meaning of peace, showing which aspect of it is present in each part of the Eucharist. The paper does not consider other words, which might have relation with the theme of peace but do not address it directly. «The heart transformed by the Eucharist expresses through acts and words its desire of peace, of the trinitarian gift of peace, and prepares for the announcement of the good news of peace.» |
