Sumario: Leishmaniasis groups several infections that are caused for protozoa of the genus Leishmania (Kinetoplastida: Tripanosomatidae), which are transmitted to the human beings and to other mammals by the sting of an infected female of lutzomya (Romero M, Sánchez J. 2007). In Latin America, included Colombia, cases of the three principal clinical forms of disease are presented: (cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral). The objective of this study is to announce the epidemiology of the disease by means of a statistical analysis, using a database supplied by the National Institute of Health from the year 2007 to 2013, to subsequently perform univariate and multivariate analysis as a tool using Microsoft Office programs Excel and SPSS Output software, version 20, encounter that the cutaneous Leishmaniasis is the principal form of presentation in Colombia (98.4 %) affecting in the main military men with 43.4 % followed by housewives and agricultural workers in productive ages, and mostly in men, also the number of cases increased in the year 2007 to 2010 and from this one it has been kept until the year 2013 with an average of 9.300 cases per year. The departments more affected are Antioquia, Santander, Guaviare, Nariño, Tolima and Meta. As for another two clinical presentations, the Leishmaniasis mucocutaneous has tended to increase across the years, while the visceral one has reduced, nevertheless it is necessary to mention that it is important to continue controlling the latter clinical form since it is the one that presents major mortality and as far as we are concerned as veterinary doctors for having taken the canine one as a reservoir.
