Sumario: The following article makes reference to the nursing attention process given to the patient whit diabetic foot diagnostic, applying the nursing attention model of Dorothea E. Orem, highlighting the preventive care as diet, exercise and the knowledge and control of the illness. Whith the application of the theory of Orem, it pretnds to contribute to the achievement of a better management of this illness, whit steps and actions individualized where the nursing professional must to plan strategies to achieve independency, fomenting a selr-care culture in the patients. The presentation of the nursing attention process it's made in explicative square emphasizing in the nursing intervention in health troubles that requires continous attention from the health team, the knowledge and compromise of the patient whit the self-care.
