Sumario: The following project is a business plan proposal that allows the creation and adaptation of an alternative purification system, applied for swimming pools in Bogotá, Colombia and near locations, in order to access a higher range of residential, vocational and recreational places. This contains two different selling models, one of an UV-C filter complemented with saline electrolysis and the other one with just an UV-C filter. Both of them have the same objective, the elimination or reduction of chemical products for the water treatment. The design process begins with the analysis of a market research setted for swimming pools users and owners (one inquest for each). The problems found were the high costs and health issues of the currently used treatment; high chlorine levels produce eye and skin irritation. Those health inconveniences were identified also in investigations realized by toxic agencies as the ATDSR and CREAL. Due to this, a successful market positioning could be established by the change of the deficient and harmful chlorine systems for an UV-C and saline electrolysis water purification. On the other hand, the creation of a prototype with engineering tools and laboratory analysis results, supports the feasibility of the product, generating confidence for the potential clients. This lab results were compared with the Health and Protection Ministry parameters for a correct water treatment in ponds and swimming pools. Those Ministry standards are only accomplished if the performance requirements, settled in the document, are followed by the users. As consequence, a process was created for the optimal functioning of the water cleaning system. Before the implementation or installation component, a verification visit will be made to warranty the fulfillment of the restrictions planted below. This restrictions were design to assure a correctly operation of the installed system. Based on the previous factors and establishing a series of assumptions, a financial analysis was developed, pointing positive financial indicators as IRR (internal rate of return) of 74% for the complete system and 35% for the sale of the UV-C filter alone. Also an initial investment of $30.000.000 COP was contemplated, generated by the partners and co-founders resources, for the initialization process. A 25% E.A of OIR (opportunity interest rate) is offered for possible investors, generating a net utility for the first 5 years of operation of $95.978.701 COP taking into consideration the selling of only UV-C purifications system and a net utility of $191.813.691 COP considering the selling of the entire system (UV-C and Electrolysis).
