Sumario: The overall objective of this research thesis is to learn how the use of information technology and communication ICT, affects the performance of teachers at Institución Educativa Jose Maria Cordoba. To fulfill this purpose, specific objectives were raised directed to identify the pedagogical strategies used by teachers in their academic classes, meet their technological mastery, and identifying the technological tools the school is provided with. All of this is aimed to implement activities to improve academic performance at this school. This is a mixed and quantitative study because throughout statistical procedures there are ways to identify how teachers at I.E. Jose Maria Cordoba do perform. A survey is also applied, processed and quantified. This study is qualitative as well because it describes the school atmosphere, and its relationship with education and the use of ICT. It was concluded that the low use of technological tools by teachers affect the development of classes, therefore, it also affects their professional performance, and diminishes the attention span of students in class. These are tools that develop the visual language of students, and makes learning more comprehensible for students since topics become easier to be understood, thus improving the teaching - learning process.
