Sumario: The Target of this research of qualitative cutting is to determine what is coherence between the present proposed theoretical-pedagogical by the Ministry of national education (MEN) and the pedagogical practice of the teaching of mathematics in the educational institution San Cayetano. With the population subject-object of the sample developed an interview structured to a group of four teachers of the mathematical area, who work in the institution where the investigation was realized. The results of the interview were contrasted with the findings by the document review and the elements that characterize the guidelines and mathematics curriculum standards proposed by the MEN, which provided significant elements in a comprehensive analysis of the collected information. The previous thing allowed inferring the reality in which develops the pedagogical practices of teachers of mathematics, emphasizing the need to implement a curriculum proposal based on the ministerial proposal.
