Sumario: This article discusses the characteristics of patients who go to an addiction treatment center in 2014 and a comparison is made with patients who were at the center four years earlier. Information from more than 500 patients was obtained studying demographic data, along with their drug abuse and mental illnesses. For this purpose, the digital patient data system known as the centers-services based system for psychoactive substances consumers (SUICAD) was used to determine the typical patient´s profile who comes to the center, giving as a result that most users are teenagers, male gender, on average high school graduates or current students, with a significant father figure absence, and mostly using marijuana.
