In Colombia, there is a production of P. ostreatus, by the Smallholders, who work since 2007 in mushroom production "oyster type" in small facilities located on their farms. These productions are based on the use of waste resulting from the main agricultural activities in each area sugar cane being one of the most important since the sugar industry generates lots of bagasse as waste. However residues of post-harvest Orellana, what is typically known as "depleted substrate" not yet been sufficiently investigated to identify their agribusiness potential.
This study aims to identify the physicochemical characteristics of Pleurotus ostreatus residues, in order to explore alternatives for later use.
The variation of the nutritional characteristics of the substrate exhausted in producing Orellana, depend on the materials used for enrichment, as the initial substrate. The union of these two variables is reflected in the content of carbohydrates but not fat percentage, which depends more on the substrate of attachments. |
