From the conception of logistics, which since its appearance in history was used properly in the transfer, transport or simply movement of goods and resources from one place to another, it is important to recognize the great progress it has had for centuries. Major technological advances have made logistics covering an ever broader ground since, supply, purchase, storage, marketing, stock inventory, to distribution and transport of goods, to the point that many of the processes began to be handled separately generating a double cost and discrete information. Based on this, it was necessary to develop a system incorporating each of the stages and actors of Supply Chain Management (SCM), all covered in a single chain, which will give more strength and competitiveness the companies.
Particularly in emerging countries such as Colombia, these systems are still in continuous development, lacking way to consolidate within enterprises, mainly in the strategy of associating clusters within the system and thus work towards a single commercial chain so levels of competitiveness and achieve commercial operation to live up to international trade. |
