Sumario: Architecture and Structuralism, the last book by Herman Hertzberger published in 2015, defined what structuralism means today for architecture and its importance as a way of thinking that bring opportunities towards the reuse of buildings. This perspective promote the discussion about building sustainability, opening the possibility for the user participation to configure its living space and with that, reaching a more democratic architecture. This article presents an interview with Hertzberger, who accepted to talk in his studio in Amsterdam. Listening Hertzberger, reafirms the need of being conscious of an architecture that leads to the possibility of beign transformed and adapted according to the changing circumstances of people who inhabited it, minimizing the waste and the indiscriminate consumption of resources.
