Based on a core problematic of low academic performance amongst grammar school students, a focus is set on the need to improve communication between parents and educational institutions in order to provide feedback on relevant activities to ensure an integral evolution of the students. During these modern times, the majority know that the tool commonly used for these endeavors are school organizers to inform parents, but these are limited to basic communication or written warnings. Consequently, it is evident of the requirement for a design of an application that allows parents to have updated access in real time of information about the academic progress and physical integrity of their children through the tracking of school bus routes. Additionally, a functionality is proposed for teachers to highlight achievements and aspects to improve in a more practical and efficient manner. This proposal has been created through the Design Thinking research methodology; because it allows to identify the needs of the clients and to guarantee that design and development satisfy those needs. For the software development, the agile software methodology SCRUM was used, because it offers an incremental software development process and guarantees the fulfillment of the client's needs returning progressive feedback during the development of the application. |
