In this work we investigate about the meanings of the separation experience of the parents who had a group of teenagers children between the ages of fifteen and twenty, taking into account the beliefs they have about separation, the meanings they are offered by the people of the micro-contexts (parents, grandparents, uncles and friends) to said rupture, and those that they attribute in terms of losses and profits on a personal, family and social level. The information was obtained from a semi-structured interview that allowed to know in depth the meanings that the young people had, in order to compare it with what was found in the research background and the theoretical framework. The results show that teenagers, despite assuming separation as a normal fact, refer to it as a difficult, complicated and sometimes painful process that not only affects parents but also them and the microcontexts that surround them. |
