Sumario: The volatile reality which the current human being is immersed in, blurs apart the apparent dichotomy that may be thought between human development and productivity, man increasingly requires to reach an integrality that makes him more competitive to face the market demands and, the organization, in turn, also needs to guarantee a response to the demands of the increasingly changing world; it´s then when training becomes necessary and arises as a strategic response. The training must respond to a context demand and requires to be thought as a formal process. This article focuses on thinking the initial phase of the training process, namely: the diagnosis, which will give all the tools to proceed to structure a training plan that fills the real needs of the organization
