Sumario: Broccoli is considered one of the most important vegetables of Ecuador in the national and international market, however the percentage of the culture of broccoli for export is low due to the presence of diseases caused by fungi, mainly by the genus Alternaria characterized by being manifested in mature leaves, stems and flower heads causing significant economic losses. The assay was carried out in two phases; in the laboratory phase, both Alternaria spp. and Bacillus subtilis were propagated and the strains were conserved. And in the field phase the application of the pathogen inoculum and the biocontrolator. The antagonistic capacity of Bacillus subtilis was evaluated using a severity scale designed as a function of the number of lesions caused by the fungus and an ABCPE (Area under the disease progress curve) was performed, that indicated that there is a difference in at least one treatment and statistical differences among the hybrid varieties. Also a post-harvest analysis was performed by a Tukey test at 5%, obtaining the percentage of severity in the harvested flower heads, being the treatment IB6; Isolated from the province of Imbabura, the best strain with antagonistic capacity and the Avenger variety which presented a lower incidence of the disease compared to the variety Domador. The method used for conservation and the best results that were produced in the reactivation was the Cryobank, since it provided a culture without contamination and with a high percentage of recovery
