Sumario: The objective of this research was to identify the main factors that determine the nutritional quality of raw materials used in feed for dairy cattle Canton Cayambe. Raw materials are valued based on their chemical composition and consumption parameters. In some cases quality relationships between variables, consumption, weight and cost that helped making management decisions, as well as to meet specific nutritional or production targets were presented. Raising replacement animals in livestock production systems is of great importance since they depend on the continuation and improvement of the herd. Generally the power of this group is underestimated and there are many nutritional deficiencies as reflected in low weight gains, service animals to the first 24 months, and low milk production when they reach the productive and reproductive.
