An appropriate sound design for a theater is important because it allows protect hearing harm, according to the sound pressure level (SPL) minimum and maximum allowed.
First in this project, the measures of the theater were taken from the architectural plans, like the line base for developing the mathematical analysis. Then, the reverberation time values were considered by keeping voice clarity that exceeds the minimum level suggested and finally, the type of speaker connection was chosen to get the required impedance besides the better distribution of sound power.
The sound design and the homogeneous sound pressure level, balanced by sound equalization, were verified by software. In addition to, a second alternative of software, that it uses available commercial equipment, it allowed to get the better devices for the theater.
The simulation of the project gave the following results: the reverberation time was 0.23 seconds, the voice clarity measured in five different points theater was 13.8 [dB], minimum; and that four speakers CBT 70J-1, connected by shunt, reach a sound power of 1600 [W] per channel. |
