The present research meets with the main objective to analyze the role of popular music in the libertarian process not only over the course of independence, but also in the formation of the musical identity, in order to understand its cultural and historical role in that event, mainly taking the naturalistic paradigm axis. In this context, it is important to note that the marching bands, folk and classical music were the basis for the musical training in Ecuador, and military bands with their music walker character, they served to awaken the patriotic spirit of each soldier on the battlefield; furthermore, it should point out that the popular or subversive music in conjunction with the popular lyric, it was used as a means of expression of the people in public places, while classical music served as an instrument to promote historical memory in the village since in this genre compositions were performed in honor of the great heroes. All these interpretations, later gave way to the creation of new rhythms thanks to cultural and symbolic significance mixture, fostered patriotism and identity in the new world, concluding that music is an important element when building a new society, since it can raise the spirit of the nation and the identity of a village. |
