“The Amplifier” is a radio show born in 2006 as a response to the needs of urban and young cultures that identify with metal rock and extreme music in the Quito Metropolitan District.
The lack of spaces in FM radios available for broadcasting and the enjoyment of their particular views, interests and cultural products is one of the main trouble spots that this survey addresses as well as the motivation to create a radial product that will become a show of rocker opinion and serve as a space for the intercultural encounter between members of these subcultures and the general audience.
This paper includes the definition of what we understand as youth, its characteristics and how, why and from which necessities young men and women get together and shape up juvenile cultures. |
