Sumario: In this document the transmission network analysis was performed which have some limitations that will be reviewed below, as are the restrictions of generation , the congestion and line losses, in order to maintain an efficient level of security and stability in the power system. Congestion occurs when the power flow violates transmission constraints, which are related to the physical limits are: thermal limits, reactive power and stability limits. To develop this software project was conducted in the Matlab program, which was developed for the implementation of economic dispatch of generating units with their respective cost functions, using the iterative method Lambda improved considering the losses in the lines of the system. They have solved several types of power systems with different amounts of generators and loads to find the solution of Optimal Power Flow DC and determine the congestion of the lines future, this offers the value of optimal power generated according to supply a demand and marginal cost data (λ) or incremental costs while allowing imaging line congestion and make predictions for the future through linear regressions, with the help of simulations in PowerWorld software. Also is had the issue of economic dispatch of electric power whose main objective is to find a point where the fuel the generator is minimized by determining the power output of generating units under conditions restriction system.
