The expressions of human beings throughout history are present in the development
of everyday life, in which communication processes are involved, where interact
symbols and signs that reproduce or revitalize the cultural memory of society, so
that, the main objective of this research seeks to visualize through a comparative
analysis the relationship between communication and culture; from this conception it
was proposed as a research the use of Chakana in the production of crafts in the craft
fair of Mariscal in Quito; propitiating in the trial a historical evolution in terms of the
concept of craftsmanship, the use of different materials and techniques that in one
way or another have changed the ideal and the behavior of the artisans.
Highlighting the Chakana as one of the most important symbols of the Andean
worldview in handicraft production in the city of Quito, the ultimate goal is to know
and identify the use that is given to the symbols and signs that this encloses. From
here, all handmade, is mediated by communication as a trigger mechanism of
dialogue, heredity and learning; so that, the language mediated by symbols and signs
has allowed humanity to build a sense of existence and a historical memory, which in
one way or another has enabled recognition, meeting and dialogue of various
knowledge. With this historical and conceptual evolution, it was possible to show
that there are profound changes in the production of handicrafts, either by
technological innovation or the regrouping of knowledge. |
