The issue of the use of public space, has been a subject postponed Quito, many municipal administrations. They have not considered or have been part of a comprehensive approach to enable sustainable programs have aimed to give the significance and importance that corresponds to the use, operation and appropriation of public space. In this context, we intend to raise this thesis generally an approximation of what constitutes certain "Guidelines to support general recommendations to guide further interventions in the Metropolitan District of Quito for the use of public space" To this end, in Chapter I, it is seen as limiting the conceptual diversity on public space, we consider it essential to homogenize the concepts used on public space. In Chapter II, the research is geographically focused on the Administration Center Zone Manuela Saenz, specifically in the Boulevard of the May 24, Historic Center of Quito, analyzing the social characteristics such as population, services, employment and others. In Chapter III, the research focuses on answering two questions that are the focus of research of this thesis are the following. What are the social needs of the neighborhoods for the creation of public spaces, with a focus on integrity and sustainability? What are the social and cultural factors of citizenship that are required for the proper use of public space? Finally in Chapter IV, conclusions and recommendations on the process of the actors of the neighborhoods on the use and ownership of the boulevard of May 24 are set and especially inform general recommendations to guide further interventions of public space in the center historical, since MDMQ, with characteristics of comprehensiveness and sustainability. |
