This paper shows the impact of cultural processes and use of public space in two neighborhoods of the South Quiteño, based on the problem; How do you get to face new cultural trends in an urban environment with different identity and a reality with multiple inner-city problems? The problem reflects based on a central objective in what way the cultural processes of residents and migrants from these neighborhoods are expressed and associated with the Quito urban culture in the public space, and as from their daily practice and since it " builds "or re-configure a new urban-rural identity?
The debate was based on three fundamental themes based on contributions, proposals and arguments some experts thinkers on the subject.
1. The relationship that arises from processes between residents and migrants with different cultural identities and expressions.
2. Configuration or reconfiguration of identities.
3. Use of public space.
The main results, we note the great success of the city of Quito to migrants, in different provinces of Ecuador, especially Cotopaxi, Bolivar, Tungurahua and Loja setting a socio-cultural diversity. Neighborhoods, achieved through self organized to celebrate carnival like Guaranda, founding anniversaries in each neighborhood, participation in celebrations of Quito and cultural activities organized by the Zonal Administration Quitumbe. With organization, residents have succeeded in getting basic infrastructure, encouraging their families; currently planned workshops with topics of personal development and skills to their children who strengthen their potentialities.
Finally, they have managed to gradually empower public spaces as a center of community development, green spaces where organize parties like carnival that is becoming more involved in the process, finally, the commercial activity of the inhabitants increased, and are a benchmark for Visitors who want to tour without leaving the city. |
