Sumario: The Company ASINEL needs to have an analysis, design and implementation of a unified communication system by Voip into an Elastix server. Its objective is to improve the internal and external communication of its workers. This project is oriented to improve communications. First, a technical analysis has to be done in the company. Then, a design, a topology and equipment were proposed. Finally, the implementation of the correct configuration was done in the selected equipment, such as the Elastix server, gateway, softphone, phones and UPS. The configuration of the Elastix central was: voicemail, IVR, music on hold, call recording, SIP backbone, call transfer, etc. The sending and receiving response time among the configured and connected equipment in the telephonic exchange did not exceed 1ms, furthermore, it was demonstrated that the highest value used for the bandwidth with five calls and codec ULAW was of 51.86 kB/s transmitted, and 51.70 kB/s received. These packages did not exceed the bandwidth used in the network. Also, it was demonstrated that the Elastix installation provided solution to the communication problems that the Company ASINEL had. This is a telephonic exchange with several applications and functions, which provide reliability, efficiency, control in transmission and reception of calls. As conclusion, this implementation showed a better improvement in comparison with a traditional analog telephone exchange. This project guarantees an optimization of new resources that this technology offers.
