The project in the Salesian University – Sede Guayaquil, aims gathering ocean-atmospheric data in a particular area of interest, to increase hit rates in weather forecasting; same was to design a self-sustaining prototype able to acquire temperature of the sea surface, ambient temperature, relative humidity and dew point using microcontrollers and sensors, coupled to a renewable energy system; transmitting the data collected through a wireless communication system using radio frequency to a computer, for the management and monitoring in real time using the LabVIEW software.
This system directly benefits to the UPS-G students, especially electronic engineering career because it can be used as a teaching resource in the telecommunications experiments and / or the inclusion of research projects. The application of this prototype, that is a technological instrument in addition to the existing ones, provides contingency plans to prevent possible damage to material property, and especially to protect the human life. |
