Sumario: This project was developed by the need to increase some Metrology Laboratory Equipment at UPS Mechanical Engineer Career. The labor atory has no instruments or equipment of the magnitude of pressure. The study was done to design and build a gauge of dead-weights with the purpose of performing practices and reinforce in the students’ knowledge on this topic. The chapter I defines conceptts and basics on the standard that establishes the requirements for pressure gauges which are appliedfor the measurement of pressure and their principle of operating of a calibration equipment of pressure gauges. In chapter II, the goal was to learn about the different and most commonly used methods which are used for calibration of pressure gauges, to establish the optimal parameters in the design of the calibration equipment of pressure gauges to be selected. In chapter III some specifications required for each piece of equipment calibration of pressure gauges will be shown where some general requirements must be accomplished for the verification team indicating the standard NTE INEN 1 825:1998. Chapter IV describes the procedure for calibrating gauges using the calibration equipment of dead weights. Testing was performed under the conditions laid down and the analysis and interpretation of results are shown to verify that the equipment is working properly and an error rate is checked by comparing with the pattern gauge that has its respective certificate of calibration
