Sumario: The specific objective of this methodological proposal is to offer five didactic strategies, to support the development of the teaching-learning process of Language and Culture in children of the 7th year of General Basic Education (EGB). With this degree work it has been possible to review topics such as: the cognitive development of children from 11 to 12 years old, the 2016 curriculum, language and culture, sociocultural theory, and didactic strategies, which helped in the construction of the theoretical foundation. This didactic proposal began with non-participant observation as a technique of qualitative method, which allowed the recording of teaching activity, from which the study problem was established. With the analytical method the problem was characterized and the theoretical framework was structured. Subsequently, with the deductive method the five strategies on Language and Culture were structured. The five strategies proposed in this work correspond to the axis of development and learning Language and culture of the current curriculum, these relate aspects of Lev Vygotsky's Theory of socio-cultural learning and the cultural tradition of Kichwa people Otavalo, such as: Tarpuy, Pawkar Raymi, Kapak Raymi, Inti Raymi and Mushuk Nina, and seek to be a didactic methodological contribution in the teaching-learning process of the 7th year of Basic General Education, in the educational institution where the problem was identified and those that can be linked to she.
