The objective of this research was to analyze the chemical composition (geranialdehyde,
neral, caryophyllene, pinene ) of essential oils of species: lemongrass (Cymbopogon
citratus) and ginger (Zingiber officinale), in the provinces of Esmeraldas, Manabí, Santo
Domingo, Pichincha, Imbabura, Carchi, Sucumbíos and Napo, assessing the influence of
environmental factors (temperature, relative humidity, altitude) and soil factors (texture,
organic matter, pH, electrical conductivity, macro and micronutrients).
Analysis of the essential oils was developed by chromatography coupled to mass (GC
MS) to obtain the amount of concentration of chemical compounds of interest; then for
the evaluation of soil it was conducted by gravimetric analysis mineralization, including
being able to obtain data of interest according edaphic factors mentioned above. To end
the statistical analysis was done by means of software R version 3.2.3 and Paleontological
Statistics (PAST) version 3.11.
As a result of the physical and chemical essential oils of the two plant species of interest,
analysis determined that there is statistical relationship between the concentration of
chemotype, geranialdehyde, neral, caryophyllene and pinene with soil factors and
environmental factors of eight provinces of study. So it is evident that these variables
contribute to performance of essential oils giving a value of industrial interest. |
