Sumario: The present work is a systematization that seeks to draw lessons from the experience Quito Chiquito va a las escuelas in relation to the construction of cultural citizenship for children in four public schools located in Administración Zona Centro Manuela Sáenz del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito during the year 2013. To experience the art is the vehicle that facilitates the implementation of cultural rights and cultural participation, fundamental concepts in the conceptual framework of cultural citizenship with which the study is conducted. Children are considered as subjects of law, social beings unique, proactive with their own identity, valid and worthy partners with creative and transforming power perfectly able to contribute in the construction of culture. The narrative of this systematization has contributions from the different actors involved in the experience: children, teachers and multidisciplinary artists. The purpose is to reflect, from different perspectives, on the contribution that experience Quito Chiquito va a las escuelas had been built as regards cultural citizenship and enrich the results.
