In this thesis, addresses the use of biomass resources in the form of biogas purification and further electricity generation. The Inga Landfill, which is the site of final disposal of municipal solid waste produced in the Metropolitan District of Quito, is the place chosen for this study.
The amount of gas estimated to be obtained from the filling of Inga, was calculated from the model of first order decay suggested by the EPA and adapted for Ecuador. For use requires knowledge of the average annual waste reception, the number of years the landfill has been open or has been closed landfill without receiving waste, the CH4 generation potential of the waste and the annual generation rate of CH4 waste.
Once filled these fields the program yields the results we approximate the amount of biogas that can get the fill per year for the duration of the project which is about fifteen years from the year 2013. |
