Sumario: San Jose 1 from Cutuglagua parish, Mejia, was formed from the allotment of Hacienda San Jose. During the birth of the new residential area, the whole territory was part of one neighborhood; but in its early years there were some events that led to the separation into three stages: San Jose Primera Etapa, San Jose Segunda Etapa and San Jose Tercera Etapa. In its development, the neighborhood has reached some achievements such as access to water, electricity and sewage, through the efforts and commitment of its people. The organization between people of the area was from the beginning, they start to form a group of people who represent them and commissions to find strategies that let them to carry out some processes that resulted in a change to the area based on the different needs of its people. In the same way, with the participation of its residents, the neighborhood has gotten community spaces available to the people who need their to make activities. In the area, there are neighbors who came from around the country, so this place has a wide variety of practices that allows its citizens to learn about other cultures. Today, the neighborhood is in the middle of the process of adapting their streets to give to its residents a better access to a road system for their comfort and welfare, with awareness about how to take care of public spaces.
