Sumario: The project proposes the design and construction of a grass and cane chopping machine to feed cattle in the sector the future belonging to the parish Gualea, aims to improve the process of production of feed for dairy cattle. Chapter one, refers to basic definitions of sugar cane, followed by the chopping process, you can also find the types of chopping machines that exist in the field of agriculture, and also presents basic concepts on the materials to use for the construction of the mincing machine. Chapter two, provides information on the selection of alternatives to choose a suitable machine based on some parameters such as costs, maintenance, assembly, materials, handling, construction and most importantly the safety at the time of operating the machine. In this chapter are the main formulas to be used to perform the calculation necessary for the construction of the machine. Chapter three, calculations were developed for the design of the mincing machine, for previous calculations the force necessary to chop the sugarcane and the grass is needed, the machine will be designed for a capacity of 500 kg / h. The project consists of a three-phase motor, a flywheel or also called blade holders, fixed and mobile cutting blades with a heat treatment, the main housings and safety elements to avoid accident to the operator. Chapter four presents the costs of the mincing machine at the end of our project.
