Sumario: This article has aims to present the importance of a video report on the characteristics and importance of ancient and modern clothes of the Panzaleo community belonging to the parish of Zumbahua of the province of Cotopaxi. This article describes the essential components of traditional and contemporary clothing are analyzed from a communicational and cultural perspective. The theoretical basis, evidence and findings about the evolution of the dress of the Panzaleos are presented. The Clothing depends on some factors such as local climate (which in this case is cold), and high winds, so there are “Chales” that were woven with animal wool. It also relates to their activities outside the parish because of education, labor, business, holidays and others. Conditions have changed and therefore the manufacture of clothing is different. Also, fashion is a factor to consider in traditional dress changes. The realization of a video-roportage posed testimony and arguments Zumbahua people, to understand the dress to cultural identity and modernity and mixing processes that are built around the Indian in the city was proposed. It was determined that the dress becomes a diachronic feature that simultaneously shows the relevance and difference, a key issue in debates about cultural identity that was evident in this communication product.
