Smart Metering has become a very important topic nowadays, established regulations for the implementation and construction for pilot projects they have been developed with the use of new devices. One of the biggest problems is the accuracy of the data for the energy consumption in [KWh], mainly for residential houses located in rural areas which are an important portfolio of clients. The method used by distributors in Ecuador is that a technician collects the reading in each screen of the meters and then he transferred to the billing department; the entire process is manual. That implies any informational errors, inefficiency and waste of resources. This document details a possible solution, that is to implement the design of a WRAN network based on the IEEE 802.22 standard using the cognitive radio technology for an automating a system of remote metering using radio frequency communication. The research is descriptive with an analysis of technology and equipment available nowadays, so that the results are valid only within the current period of time and generalized for the area of study. |
