Sumario: The research is the analysis in the Education Unit Sacred Hearts of Rumipamba about teaching strategies that teachers apply in the process of teaching and learning in the area of Language and Literature with child / ace Seconds years of EGB, by which the first chapter briefly describes the socio-affective cognitive and motor development of children / as in the pre-operational stage. Chapter two will address the concepts and types of teaching strategies, and also the relationship they have with the teaching-learning process, and finally description of the teaching strategies that apply specifically in the area of Language and Literature in the Second year EGB. Chapter three will present themed around the conceptualization of literacy, the phases and stages of reading and writing as well as methods for teaching, resources and ways to assess learning literacy mentioned, subsequently makes a brief description of the items contained in the Second EGB curriculum in the area of Language Arts. Chapter four details the diagnosis and finally brief contextualization of the institution and the second of GBS study, description of methodologies and strategies that could be analyzed through classroom observation, interviews with officials and survey application for teachers , which leads to the identification and analysis of the teaching strategies used by teachers in the teaching of language and literature.
