The technical project “Provision of a sewerage system for the river up community” It
will improve the living conditions for the people living in the area, since currently there
is not a sanitary sewer system or storm sewer system available, so the habitants use
septic tanks. The septic tanks are collapsing and producing pollution, causing
environmental damage and pollution, causing environmental damage and contamination
effects harmful to the habitants.
The main goal is to provide sufficient and adequate sewerage system that allows to
evacuate wastewater with the necessary environmental quality indices, according to the
EPMAPS standards over a period of 18 months. Emphasizing that because it is a high
residential growth area, the final designs are done by implementing new infrastructure,
in this case two alternatives are taken into account described in the project with their
respective advantages and disadvantages, from wich alternative two was chosen as the
best.
The investment cost for the combined sewer system is $ 990,028.39; this cost includes
the treatment plant that has a value of $ 148,783.29.
According to the resulting economic indicators, it is possible to define that the project is
profitable, with a net present value (NPV) of 93321.92. An internal rate of return (IRR)
of 13.08%, and a benefit cost ratio (B/C) of 1.08. |
