Sumario: Because now the Ecuador and the rest of the world are in search of the implementation of renewable energy for electricity generation, in this paper aims to establish a planning and modeling of photovoltaic generation system as an alternative for lighting in educational institutions that allow these institutions to incorporate these systems in order to reduce environmental pollution, power generating cost savings by reducing the energy consumption of the local network. In our country there is no regulation or procedure for implementing photovoltaic generation systems for it to international standards for design and construction is taken, despite this state with regulatory bodies encourages the incorporation of these systems. It is important to know the operation and components that make up these systems among the main elements you have to photovoltaic, reverse, bidirectional meters modules. The analysis was performed with the solar resource modeling obtaining annual, monthly and daily data, thereby taking as school guy Kennedy of the Salesian Polytechnic University campus quantifying the lighting power of all areas, the design was carried out PV system components. A management model of the designed system which raises the hours of consumption by the PV system and use of the local network, indicating that the system can also sell electricity to the network of local distributor energy, after developing cost analysis was performed benefit the project has a high profitability.
