Sumario: In this work we are make a study about LED lamps for street lighting and SCADA system design with automatic on/off to be applied in the Salesian Polytechnic University, Kennedy campus. In Ecuador LED lighting applied to street lighting is little know, there are few projects about as a recently theme and it does not with published and detail information to show the benefits and disadvantages of use this type of technology in outdoor lighting. The control and monitoring systems are addressed to industrial and commercial area, but actually we can see necessary to expand application area, even to residential level. With a control system applied to outdoor lighting, will be change the street lighting concept about modernization, service and quality. The purpose of this study is to analyze the current state of street lighting in the Salesian Polytechnic University, Kennedy campus, to know if the actual system meets national and international standards. We will measure about lighting levels in pedestrian and vehicular areas wherewith we can show possible faults and corrective detected. Also will be made a review the electrical installations that make street lighting.
