Sumario: This work mainly aims to present how to perform a redesign mechanical vacuum line system for intensive care area of the Hospital Carlos Andrade Marin. Initially we present the properties of air and the conditions in which they are intervening in the system. Then he goes on to detail equations that will be necessary to obtain usable data clear in the development of the project and all the accessories together with the teams that are included within the system, which is standardized in NFPA guidelines. We proceed with the data collection of existing facilities, pipelines travel plans, standards used in current network conditions and the use of mathematical elements for calculations of both the loss of pressure and flow. Once you know the current status of the network, we proceed with the technical parameters of a redesign that system suitable for vacuum, data include geographic conditions of equipment, piping installations properly analyzed, reducing pressure loss and flow the minimum maintenance flow control, a team with sufficient generation for a total demand intensive care area. The process continues with a technical selection of equipment that will participate in the new network, the specific implementation of the standard will be handled along with pipeline installation manuals, following specific parameters for them. Finally, an analysis of direct and indirect costs to obtain an estimate of the cost of project implementation.
