Sumario: Corn is an essential food for humanity and Sitophilus zeamais is the most important pest of this cereal. In Ecuador the main control of this pest that has been used is the organophosphate pesticide phosphine; as a contribution of Agroecology pest management this research was conducted to know some management methods against weevil in stored corn that have been tested around the world. In addition, this paper is intended to serve as input for future research on the subject aimed at mitigating the problems caused by the attack of this pest. The methodology used was known as "systematic review", for which a protocol that placed articles on management Sitophilus zeamais in stored corn in three databases (Taylor & Francis, ScienceDirect and Scielo) was developed using options Advanced search further using, inclusion and exclusion criteria to obtain the articles. A number of end items was forty-three of which were downloaded in PDF format. Later these articles were reviewed, read and fully analyzed. With an array (in Excel) the principal or interest of each item information was obtained. Among the main results we have: Latin America and Africa are the regions where most published on types of management of this pest. The English language prevails in published research. The use of plants for the production of essential oils that are used as insecticides or repellents plant, is the most studied type of treatment. In the end, the need to change control techniques of conventional agriculture, rooted from the green revolution, for a more agroecological approach in the management of our resources is highlighted.
