The company “Post-Formados del Valle” during fifteen years has been dedicated to the manufacture of furniture of kitchen, office and doors of wood, for the execution of the carvings and cuts of the company has of a manual of milling machine, and of which the operator must shape the design that will be modeled on said furniture, which is why, in the present work the automation process of a CNC milling machine was carried out, whose operation is controlled by a computer with Matlab, G code and an Arduino Uno card. This process allowed the wood carving company to solve production problems in the design of furniture. Stepper motors used to provide precise movements; a MATLAB software that interprets the G code used in numerical control controls these. To intercommunicate the MATLAB software and the motors, an Arduino controller used to read the G code and send signals to the motors indicating the movements that must be done. Once the automatic system implemented in the milling machine, the respective tests performed, which graphically showed the good performance of said system and the advantages in safety and time that the company obtained from it. |
