Sumario: This research was carried out in order to meet the professional and occupational expectations of bachilleres indigenous youth of the province of Cotopaxi, with a case study in Guayama San Pedro y Tigua Niño Loma; populations of similar cultural traits, with a hacendataria common historical memory. Using the ethnographic method we conducted a field study based on testimonies, interviews, meetings with focus groups, which it was possible to extract a large amount of valuable information that helped to understand the reality of both communities. Information, testimonials, were filed and recorded in daily and comparative tables of field. Then, we proceeded to analyze it, noting how external factors and internal influence drastically the ways of thinking and acting of the young people in a positive way as negative. Young people are a vulnerable group, society is changing and generating new fads that impose styles, ways of thinking and acting, and young people are easy prey for these vertiginous changes, it leads to confused and wrong decisions. Work, family and the very fact of belonging to an indigenous culture and be part of a village with an Andean cosmovision brand of cultural differences, and these are factors that build and build their expectations, some choose coping and success, but unfortunately the vast majority choose mediocrity and conformism.
