The pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries in Ecuador are interested in developing natural products, for that reason in this study was considered the evaluation of antifungal activity in vitro of natural ingredients as Marco (Ambrosia arborescens Mill) and Matico (Aristeguietia glutinosa Lam) in cosmetic formulations. Three types of cosmetic formulation were considered: cream, lotion, gel, via two experimental designs for analyzing the preliminary stability before of the evaluation of antifungal activity in vitro. The first statistical design (Plackett-Burmann) for creams which considerate variables like Concentration of oil phase, Concentration of active, Type of emulsifiers, Concentration of emulsifiers and Concentration of chitosan, for the evaluation of stability, response was coalescence volume. Obtaining a total of ten stable formulations for Ambrosia arborescens Mill and fifteen stable formulations for Aristeguietia glutinosa Lam, being chitosan the main factor for stability. The second statistical design, Full Factorial applied for lotions and gels with the following variables: Type of formulation and Concentration of active, preliminary stability is evaluated in terms of variation of pH. Obtaining a total of four stable formulations for Ambrosia arborescens Mill and four stable formulations for Aristeguietia glutinosa Lam. |
