Sumario: The purpose of this research is to develop a methodological proposal composed of two strategies that seek to change the perspective of teaching mathematics to support teachers of the level of Initial Education. The main objective is to encourage the development of notional thinking and the acquisition of logical-mathematical skills in the first years of education to banish the idea that often accompanies the teaching of mathematics: the transmission and mechanical repetition of knowledge. The work is organized in two parts: the first deals with constructivist theories regarding the area of Mathematics, the formation of the concept of number, notional thought construction, logical-mathematical notions. The periods or stages of learning in which children are acquiring certain concepts, the conception of mathematics in the curriculum of Initial Education, the teaching-learning of mathematics at the initial levels, strategies of teaching, strategies of learning and the phases that create a didactic strategy. In the second part, we find two didactic strategies with exercises of practical application that allow to work the logical-mathematical notions starting from a real situation without leaving aside the slogans for the development of the strategy, the assessment model, materials to be used, time foreseen, conceptual and procedural contents that the teacher must take into account. Finally, conclusions and recommendations.
