Sumario: The main activities of the productive sectors that contribute to the economy of Isabela Island are: agriculture, fisheries, industry, trade and tourism. The primary sector accounts for 13.73% of the PEA, the secondary sector 4.07% and the services sector with 82.2%. Significantly, within the tertiary sector, activity increased participation in the labor force is of public and private employees, covering 28.79% of the global PEA. In general investment levels are low, especially in the primary and secondary sector, being for the primary sector 38%, 3% secondary and tertiary 59%. This results in a low contribution of GDP for primary (5%), secondary (21%) and 76% tertiary. The levels of profitability are: 9% for agriculture, 12% tourism, the craft sector 15%, 27%, 29% and finally fishing trade.
