This product was developed considering the needs of a minority group, the deaf people who are admitted to work in the Senplades. It seeks to channel through their mother language, the Ecuadorian Sign Language, the information that new staff members receive through an induction.
Due to the complexity of the interpretation of the Ecuadorian Sign Language, a certified interpreter was sought, who gave a vital contribution to the construction of this audio-visual product because she not only interpreted the entire given script, but she also put it to a more friendly and understandable language to persons with hearing disabilities. Through this new script, it was found that the limitation of communication for a deaf person is large; in the world of the listeners, we have words such as Planning, Decentralization, Deconcentration, and others. For the world of the deaf, these words are unknown and therefore should be explained in four or five signs that, in our minds, we understand through a single word.
The product was developed as a complement to the work of the Directorate of Human Resource Management in conjunction with other areas. A four hour induction was recorded for the construction of the video pre-production, taking into account the communicational needs of the audience to which we are headed. In this way, the proposed video became not only an informational but also motivational and edu communicative product.
Finally, this product awoke other institutional needs, such as the implementation of specialized signage for people with disabilities, the need to implement new public policies at the national level to improve the quality of the education of deaf people. This product sparked a positive and interesting debate in compliance with its intended purpose, to generate communication for development. |
