The development of this application aims to support people with visual impairment
so that they have greater autonomy and that at any time they know what the dollar
bill they deliver and receive. It is intended that there is a greater inclusion of this
minority group of people to society and access to Information and Communication
Technologies (ICTs), that often the same technologies impose barriers that do not
allow taking advantage of all functionalities equally. The IDE Android Studio will be
used in order to develop the application for the device with Android operating
system, including interface design and application development, this leads to the use
of OpenCV library, open source that can be used Under the BSD license, with which
it will be possible to identify a series of patterns in images that are obtained from the
camera of the device. Once developed the application will proceed to compile to
install it on a mobile device with Android Operating System. Finally, it will proceed
to perform tests on the mobile device with several US dollar bills and another type of
currency to verify their effectiveness and measure the margin of error of the
application. The data obtained will be used to measure the margin of error of the
application and will be considered whether or not it is suitable for daily use. |
