From the cultural point of view, the traditional games of Quito represent an inheritance
transmitted from parents to children from time immemorial. Unfortunately with the
advancement of technology and life changes, this tradition has been losing value and
interest in the new generations; this is why this audiovisual documentary aims to
rescue and disseminate traditional games and cultural and family values that they bring
with them. Throughout this visual analysis entitled "Tradition social memory", the
main characteristics of four traditional games are represented: tinplate, comets, spins
and the national ball; Where they tell the story of those who still keep this tradition
alive and practice them today, that is their specialists and filmmakers. Despite the loss
of interest in the practice and the essence of the games of yesteryear, encouraging
children and young people to seek a cultural rescue can save over time the historical
customs of peoples not only Quito, but all of Ecuadorian territory. |
