The main aim of the present project research is the design and implementation of a
console that enables the users to control a drone a kilometer away, in different outdoor
locations for monitoring activities and transmitting images in real time.
The project implementation began with information acquisition by virtual users of the
proposed device, these users contributed with different design criteria to carry out a
gathering process and data tabulation; this information will be applied in the display
of the quality function to obtain the global technical requirements which were used to
propose the console design.
With the established requirements, the suitable and adequate materials were searched
for assembling the console, which were used to build the console prototype that fulfill
with the technical characteristics.
Once the prototype was assembled and tested, several functioning tests were
performed in order to verify if it complies its main objective, the prototype had to work
properly with a camera attached to a drone. The image captured by the camera was
supposed to be visualized. This information needed to be transmitted to the console in
real time in order to be stored for display on a computer or mobile device.
The achievement of this project permitted to establish several general conditions for
the proper use of the console and the drone in the field. These conditions were related
to its functioning, operation and storage. |
