Bartering as an economic practice of ancestral peoples fosters a rich compendium of cultural, social, historic and, of course, communicational elements, whose dialogue with those elements that compose modernity have allowed the survival of this practice throughout time.
This research presents an analysis of the elements that give life to the existing dialogue between traders, as representatives of modernity, and rural communities, as representatives of the Andean world’s ancestry, who twice a week meet at the central market of the Cusubamba Parish to barter their products and keep this social process alive. |
